My 11 year old and I have both developed sore throats today, with no other sympt!
Question: No sneezing and not feeling unwell in any other way.
What could be the cause?

Thats exactly what i said to my friend yesterday..but today we (my son and i ) woke up with runny noses, temperature, aching limbs and a headache too!
allergic pharyngitis.
Hayfever is said to be starting earlier this year.
I would say its an allergy of some sort.
child has prob just picked up a bug from school and passed it on in contact ie a kiss or a hug., remember the old saying "coughs and sneezes spread diseases".
You are heading for flue some kind of bug.It is possible your sore throat will be around a while before a flue is apparant.The remedy is to drink plenty and get some antibiotics.

Strange question. Bacteria or virus probably. A sore throat is a sore throat, just give it a few days.
not uncommon at this time of yr, just give plenty cool drinks and some paracetamol every 6 hrs if your unhappy in a few days see what the doctor thinks
