What is the point of fingerprints?!
Question: Think about it, DNA can be used to track down killers and public offenders, but it was necissary for evolving as a species. Hair, can also be used to track down offenders but is necissary for the protection of some areas of the body to light. But what is the point of fingerprints? There are no uses for them (not that i know) and all that they can do is help identify criminals. Its like they were given to us because as a species, our evolution knew that one day Fingerprints would help identify criminals. Anyone with an answer, ill be pleasently suprised

Fingerprints, caused by the ridges on our fingers, help us grasp things. They are there to act as tiny grips so we can hold onto things easier.
Your skin would be more slippery without them, and it would be harder to hold things between our fingers.
Imagine trying to turn a page in a book without them. It would be like turning the page in a book by placing one knuckle on the paper and trying to move it. It is easier to move by placing a gripped finger on it and trying to move it.
