Does hearing urself wheezing during an asthma attack make u feel worse?!

i don't have that...but when i get a cold and i hear my nose and stuff i feel sicker. i get like a weird wave across my eyes and head and i just wanna go to sleep and i just want it over with. almost like a mini panic attack.
