Red/Brown Ear Wax?????!!!!???!
Question: I know this is really gross, but my boyfriend cleans his ears EVERYDAY, and EVERYDAY the Q-tips are red/brown looking. I have never seen something so gross and he thinks its normal. Is it?? He has no medical insurance yet to go to the doctor and I was just wondering if there is different types and whats normal and whats not. Thanks in advance!

Some people produce excess amounts of ear wax, especially if they have relatively oily skin or hair. If he works in a very dusty or dirty environment, this could contribute to the color of the wax. Actually, by him having excess ear wax, he is keeping larger particles from entering the inner ear and causing damage. No danger!
