hi, don't be so worried I have it and I do not feel any different. I was diagnosed about 5 years ago accidentaly, but havent experienced any symptoms. depending on a severity of this condition you could feel some moderate chest pain or shortness of breath, but mostly it is not bad. Mitral valve prolapse is called one of the valves in the heart disorder. there maybe no treatment required, but depending on the severity of the condition, could be medicines prescribet in very very severy case operation to replace the valve. please don't worry ,because that may cause you heart do "extra work", which is not good if you have this condition. more informtion you can get on WebMD( or professional advice and opinion) or even Wikipedia.
hope everything will be OK

Patients with mitral valve prolapse often have no symptoms and it is only picked up when the heart is listened to for some reason. Some patients complain of tiredness, dizziness and vague chest pain.
An echocardiogram and ECG will usually diagnose the problem. if the patient is well then the usual course of management is to monitor the situation, usually by yearly check ups. If there are symptoms then a beta-blocker (medication) may be offered to reduce symptoms. Surgery can be performed where there is severe mitral valve regurgitation (where blood flows back through the valve).
The outcome for patients is generally very good. The doctor looking after your case will be able to tell you exactly how mild / severe your case is and what treatment he recommends and hopefully will be able to reassure you.
