My brother took 100 extra strength tylenol tablets...?!

Question: in a suicide attempt on Saturday. He threw up white liquid that evening, and is now resting comfortably in the hospital. All his vitals are fine, he's currently experiencing no pain or discomfort, and is able to eat and use the washroom with ease.

My question is: Will he be ok or is it still too soon to know. His doctor's been very busy and we haven't seen him since yesterday, when my brother's condition hadn't improved so.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

FYI: Never take accutane, or watch those who do with extreme caution. The nursing staff here have confirmed it's a suicide drug.

The biggest exposure with Tylenol overdose is long term liver damage. Make sure the hospital does a liver panel to make sure it looks ok. HE may also want to do a follow up with his own doctor with another panel in about 6 weeks or so. I am sorry for your family's troubles, but I am glad you still have your brother. Hope this helps.

He should be okay because enough time has gone by to get the tylenol out of his system especially since he threw up. He is in the best place possible because he will be well taken care of. I hope that he gets some help so he won't try anything like this again.

Too much Tylenol can shut down your kidneys, and do terrible damage.

Hopefully they pumped his stomach soon enough.

I know a kid who took a lot of tylenol at one point. He was in the hospital for quite some time, but is fine now. I hope he will be ok. Prayer is a powerful thing.

There's no way of us to know without more details regarding timing. How fast did he take them? When did he vomit? How much vomit was there? How soon afterwards was he in hospital? When/what exact procedures were performed?

He could be fine in the morning, or he could die in a couple of months waiting for a new liver.

I agree with LeeA too much of this type of medication can damage the kidneys etc but this is usually when taken over a period of time.

Hopefully as your brother threw up and got hospital treatment he should be ok. Only the doctor can confirm this though.

we wouldnt really know!!!! unless someone answers who actually did that you need to talk to the doctor my cousin took acutane 3 times and he was very depressed while taking it he finally stopped because it cleared all his acne
