Whats the best way to be rid of a coldsore?!
Question: I'm already using Zovirax which is good but is there anything else that would be safe and a good thing to use to make it clear as soon as possible? it came up this morning and has already met the zovirax. is ther anything else i can do, this one btw is probably bought on by stress perhaps some stress releiveing things to do to?

Go have a massage, relax and generally chill out. Treat your body as if you have flu-lots of rest and fluids. This will give it the energy to fight back. Try a multivitamin to boost your immune system too, it may keep them at bay for longer.
i had the worst one EVER last week. the best way to get rid of it fast is to dip ur finger in strong perfume or aftershave and dab it on the coldsore, its stings like hell but it kills it fast .. .
My mother in law swears by germolene. She reckons it is better than Zovirax!
Listen to some good music, read a good book, take a walk in the fresh air, all those are good for relieving stress.
Zovirax is seriously the best thing, it works really quickly, just apply it when the leaflet says and in a couple of days it'll be gone :) so be patient!

i found that if you leave put toothpaste on it before you go to bed at night, the next day it will be nearly gone. don't use the toothpast to frequently on the same spot though, because it may dry your skin out. but it definitly does the trick!

or
use perixode on a cotton ball and apply it to the area.
it will burn at first but it'll dry the coldsore out very soon.
oh and dont forget the l-lysine tablets. if you dont know, you can buy the tablets at any grocery store or drug store.
There are 2 medicines that work really well for a cold sore that have worked for me numerous times.

Zovirax or an equivalent is the best but try asking your local pharrnacist and if you keep getting the problem maybe see a doctor.
your using the best thing already zovirax, the worst thing you could do is keep touching it. Have you tried those clear plasters for coldsores i think they're called compeed i bet they're good.
The thing is, you normally have a tingling in the lip, the day before the actual sore appears, that is the best time to apply, zovirax, before it breaks out on the lip and to keep it at bay, however, you now need to go along with it, for as long as it takes, maybe a couple of days. keep to the zovirax, don't apply anything else.
There only one way to get rid of a colesore and that's to blow your bloody head off !
theres a thing called compeed, which is like a clear plastic plaster that you put over the coldsores. it really does cut the healing time in half. its really good although its expensive around 6 pound for a pack of 15.
