Question: Food Poisoning Spoiled Crab!?
Yesterday we had a party and had pounds of wonderful tasting crab meat!. When it was bought, the package said it was already cooked!. Everything smelled and tasted great!. Today, my mom and I were eating some of the leftovers!. We packaged up the crab meat yesterday and refrigerated it!. However, today it smells like ammonia and feels slimy!. We didn't realize this meant is was spoiled until after we ate it!.
My question is: what kind of food poisoning can we expect from crab that smells like ammonia and feels slimy!? If vomiting is the only thing we will get, then I don't care, but I've been reading about botulism, and I was wondering if anyone knows if this could be a risk for us!. We don't have any symptoms of any kind yet and it has been over a couple of hours!. Thanks
Crab = cooked, still in shell, chilled over night, is now slimy and smells like ammonia, has been ingested over a couple of hours ago, no symptoms yet!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If both of you are in very good health, the most you will probably experience is nausea, possible vomiting and diarrhea!. If in doubt call a doctor if your symptoms go beyond that!. Sea food is one of the worse foods to go bad very quickly!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
