Question: PLEASE! I need advice on what to do next!?
I have been sick with a sore throat (7th one within a year-feels like strep but always tests negative) since last Wednesday!. By Saturday I went to the doctor and because this is reoccuring I asked for her to refer me to an ENT specialist!. I can't get in until NEXT tuesday!! I was given no antibiotics-only Vicodin for pain!. On Sunday I woke up with a horrible ear ache (I put a heating pad on it, took 3 200mg Ibuprofren and it helped) Since then the sore throat has worsened and I have two plugged ears and congestion!. I called my Doc yesterday and talked to her nurse, the doc was supposed to call me back and never did!. Today is her day off!. I called the hospital anyway and left a message for SOMEONE to call me back and tell me what to do next and still no response!! Is this a joke!? i have tried everything!. 100% juice, water, heating pads, the pain pills are not helping anymore, not even the IB's for swelling!. I took an expectorant, throat lozenges, high doses of vitamins!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You could very well have sinusitis!. The post nasal drip would ause the sore throat, probably worse in the mornings!.!.!.recurring like this is troublesome!. Perhaps you picked up strep somewhere that lingers in the body but doesn't present in throat cultures!. Your doctor could consider a regimen of Cipro as an antibiotic!.!.this antibiotic ROCKS!.
