Question: Doctor made me undress to listen to heart!?!? Is this normal!?!?!?
I was just wondering if this was appropriate!. I went to the doctor, not my family doctor but a walk in clinic, the doctor was male!. I went because i had pains in my chest!. He cam in asked me about it then told me he would leav ethe room and to take off e verything, tank top and bra !. There was nothing to cover myself so i figured okay he must nee dthis all off to run some test!. So there i am in the doctors office naked waste up with nothing t cover me a littel akward!.
He comes in and gets me to situp and listens to my heart , and tells me to breath deeply, pretty much that was it!.
Why did he need me to get naked from waist up for that!?
I have had my heart listened to before and it can easily be done with a tank top on!.
Is that normal!? I would have kept my clotheds on but i thouhg he was doing something more complicated which i needed my clothes off for!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'd see your local Medical Practitioner's Board!.!.!.there MAY have been a medical reason for you to have no top or bra on,
but he should have given you a gown to wear!. They will advise you on the medical viewpoint, and they will also know if there have been any other complaints about your doctor!. Its not really normal for you to be naked waist up just to have your breathing checked if its really worrying you or you think this doctor was wrong to ask you to undress them try speaking to another doctor about it they can give you adviceWww@Answer-Health@Com

I can understand if you had chest pains a Dr would take this very seriously and I can understand if you were wearing a tight top he would get you to take it off but I dont know maybe your bra would make the stethascope sound differant and he just wanted to do a good job and check it thoroughly!.!. I had something similar happen to myself a while ago (when they listened to my heart)!. First it was a female and she told me to take off my bra, but she put one of those hospital gown things over me, but when the male doctor came in she moved the gown and never put it back up to cover me!. So the male doctor ends up having a whole conversation with me while my breasts are out!.!.!. even when it was so unnecessary and I was a minor at the time!. There was no reason for it!. So maybe doctors are so use to nudity they don't even notice or think about the fact that it might make you uncomfortable or some male doctors are perverts!. This case sounds like he was taking advantage of you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
