Adderall prescription?!

Question: Adderall prescription!?
when I was a freshman in high school I was seeing a psychiatrist who diagnosed me with ADD and ADHD!. My parents gave me the option of going on some sort of ADD/ADHD medicine to combat it but i chose not to!.!.!. I'm 21 now and i'm really wishing i had chosen to atleast TRY it, and i was wondering if the diagnosis back in freshman year would still allow me to get a prescription for whatever meds would work for me now!. any help!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
As so much time has passed-- including the fact that you've transitioned from adolescence to adulthood-- you *must* be re-evaluated before being treated with medication!. No ethical practitioner would prescribe based on a diagnosis of ADD/ADHD you received 7 years ago, nor would you want them to!.

As a physician, I would suggest that you make an appointment with your family practice physician initially to discuss your ongoing symptoms, whereupon he/she will refer you for any necessary mental health services!. Once you've been officially diagnosed with *adult* ADD, medication and therapy will likely be the next logical step!.

Best of luck to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You would have to go back to the doctor to see if that is still the case,my grandson was diagnosed with add/adha,we chose not to put him on any medicine, because of the side effects ,he is a little slow in school, but not everyone is the same level on learning, however let him work on any kind of machinery and he will fix it ,not everyone is book wise, but more common sense wiseWww@Answer-Health@Com

No!. You can't get a prescription again, because if you rejected the prescription when you were under 18, then thats the end of the story, also, your over 18!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
