Self conciousness?!

Question: Self conciousness!?
Ok well I'm 14 and extremely self concious!. I'm like 5'6 and 120 pounds which I feel is too thin!. I've been working out for 6 months, and have had a great strength/muscle improvement but i'm still really thin!. I also eat alot more than most of my bigger friends do, and avoid looking in mirrors at all costs!. I have actually had alot of compliments from people, which i feel great about, but then one bad/criticising comment sets me back even if i know the person isn't trying to be mean!. Any ideas how i can stop being so self concious!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey, stop beating yourself up! Your 14 and still growing!. You obviously are pretty good looking if you get compliments!. This is what I do, whenever I look in the mirror and see a flaw, I pick out 2 good things I like about myself!. Your see 17 flaws, pick out 18 things you love about yourself!. Remember that nobody can look perfect!. Who cares if your muscular or not!? Take some advice from a girl, you can be the hottest guy in the world but if you dont have a personality to go with it your nothing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you sound like you aren't very skinny at all, but if you are just selfconcious in general you may want to try actually lookingin mirrors often!. It sounds like you are not about to change so the only thing you cando is get used to and accept who you are!. You become much more attractive when you are confident, confidence is key!. Look in the mirror and find everything that you like about yourself and when you look in the mirror everyday focus on those parts!.
Ex!. I love my eyes, so when I look in the mirror every day, the first thing I look at are my eyes, and this leaves me feeling good all day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you are 14!.!.!.everyone is self conscious at that age!. It is a phase and will grow out of it!. Just take the good compliments and roll with it!. Not everyone is going to praise you but if they are literally pointing out your flaws it is because they are jealous and lack confidence themselves!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you just have to love yourself!. you have to make peace with your body to ever feel good about yourself!. love yourself for who you are not what you look like!. mirrors can only show you on the outside not what you are on the inside!.

I agree with the first two posters here!. Definitely normal to be self conscious at that age!. I went through it, and so have others too!.

It sounds like your metabolism might be higher than normal, which is not necesarily a bad thing!. Just that you need to listen to your body, and give it what it needs!. Be it the right foods, nutrients, rest, more training, less training, etc!. Particularly if certain (nutritious ) food that you are drawn to eat!.
My brother in law has been body building for 8 or 9 years, is is big, and competes in competitions!. He knows about the importance of nutrition and all that i have said thus far!. One thing i can say from what i learnt from him and having read about in the past is the importance of attending to the quality of nutrition!. If your body were lacking or low in certain nutrients, then it might not be building as much as it could, or maintaining itself as well as it could and needs to be, due to the added work it has to do!. Of course if depends on what exactly you are training for too!.

One thing that might help in the self consciousness area, is to write down some ways you can comment to yourself in your mind or out aloud, that you can relate to such an incident, in a way that is self accepting, or helps you be more like you wish to be!. If you do this on a daily basis, it will build you up to accepting yourself!. If you are good at seeing yourself or enacting youyrself in situations before they occur, then i suggest playing out/ seeing yourself responding in positive ways!. Asure yourself in the new ways!. Try it out a few times and watch for some amazing changes!.
I suggest you create your own, but an example is something like saying/ thinking; "I feel good about myself, no matter what anyone sais, thinks about my looks!." ,, " I like how i am", "i am fine", "it doesnt matter what anyone thinks or sais about me", "i accept myself!. I feel good about myself, as i am"!.

You can "stop" the behaviour, not by fighting or stoping it, but by replacing it and building (by repetition of) new behaviours of thinking, feeling, and what you say!.

You can do it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

At your age, this is perfectly normal to feel weird about how you look and to be very self concious!. When I was your age, I hated to look in the mirror and even closed myself off from other people just because I thought everyone thought I was ugly!. If I were you, just know that everyone else your age is going through the same thing, and you're a growing girl so your body is not fully developed yet!. You will gain more weight as time passes as your metabolism will eventually go down!. At your age and your height you could be a model!.!.but not one of those extremely skinny ones!.!.!.be thankful for your body, many girls your age struggle with being short and fat :) Don't let people tell you negative things about how you look, they are probably just jealous!.!.!.keep up the good work, you'll get through this awkward stage eventually :-) :-)Www@Answer-Health@Com
