getting really stoned everyday for long periods of time i've found to be detrimental to my everyday fuctioning, albeit in ways that are totally subjective to my experience (it seems to hinder my speaking abilities to a degree, along with other noticeable mental anomalies like paranoia and social anxiety that seem to manifest when i'm not under the influence and i've been smoking )!.

I've found that a better use of the herb for allaying depressive symptoms is not to get super stoned all the time, but instead to take a couple hits and then let the thc work it's magic without getting me totally blasted, doing this throughout the day i've found to be more effective at treating my periodic depression without making me super sleepy or lethargic after the effects start to wear off!. however, I personally find it hard to treat my depression with marijuana during the day since i tend to still want to get 'super stoned' at night, this is simply a problem of self-control though!.

because of my experience, i've decided to take a break to clean out my system and afterwards i plan on not getting super stoned everyday, but keeping it spaced out and never smoking 2 days in a row!. all the while i've been trying to fight my depression through other means (diet, exercise, meditation), so that i can keep cannabis to the recreational alcohol substitute that it once was for me!.

i'm basing my decision off of anecdotal evidence from others who had the same problems with cannabis that i did, and seem to find that spacing out their smoking eliminated the unwanted side effects that I've experienced!.

to conclude, and to answer your question, i think that any unwanted side effects from cannabis can cleary be seen after a year, if not months of daily smoking!. From the studies that i've read, there seem to be no symptoms that appear beyond what i've experienced from a couple years of daily cannabis use!.!. I think the question is best answered by your current personal experience!. If you feel your functioning perfectly fine as of now and don't feel that any negative side effects outweigh the positive benefits that daily smoking brings you, then by all means carry on without worry!. With as benign a substance as cannabis if you haven't already experienced negative reprocussions from use after 5 years then I think that you'll be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Marijuana use is also linked to an increase in past year anxiety and panic attacks!.4

Marijuana use during adolescence can increase the chance of schizophrenia!.5

The risk of developing schizophrenia is greater with users who begin at an early age!.6

The earlier teens start using marijuana, the more likely they are to become dependant later in life!.7
