Question: Why are hearing aids so terribly expensive!?
I realize the technology has it's price but there are almost as many people who wear glasses that also use hearing aids, why is it still 4000 dollars and higher for two pieces of plastic to amplify sound!? I call that a rip off!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I wear one in each ear, so I can relate!. I don't understand either, since they cost more than a computer, and don't do nearly as much! Custom fitting is a simple, inexpensive procedure using plastic; the circuitry is basically the same for all of them; etc!.etc!. There is no reason for such an expense!. By the way I wear two recently purchased CIC models by Starkey, digitals with volume control, and they were only half the cost you cite!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
I was shocked when my mother-in-law told me how much hers cost - but then I found out that they're tailored to the person specifically and can be adjusted throughout the person's life for free!. It's really a good investment if you need better hearing!. They're so tiny and don't just amplify sound - they're tailor made!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
