My mom just had a panic attack! Can you help!?!

Question: My mom just had a panic attack! Can you help!!?
So yesterday night my mom was complaining about pressure on her heart and she couldn't walk right!. She asked me to call an ambulance and I did!. They got here and calmed her down and everything was fine!.

Then not five minutes ago she told me she was feeling bad!. Then she started to really panic and I called the neighbor!. They're on their way to the hospital right now!.

Is it normal for someone to have two panic attacks so close together!? Can it hurt her!? Any information you have on panic attacks or any experiences you have had like this would be much appreciated!. Please, I'm really scared right now!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's going to be okay!. I don't blame you for being scared but panic attacks aren't going to do her any permanent harm!. It is not uncommon for them to come in clusters, especially if certain triggers have been tripped!. I used to get them and there were certain parts of daily life that would always set me off!. They are pretty scary, you really do feel that something terrible is happening to you, but they pass!. sometimes they go away completely!. I occasionally have some anxiety now but it is nothing like it once was and I can recognize the signs and head off a bad attack!. Anyway, you take it easy and take care of yourself!. You'll hear from your mom soon, or your neighbor, and things will be fine!. They may give your mom a mild prescription to calm her symptoms!. Just be there for her, and try not to worry too much!. You can write to me if you need to talk!.

Yes, anxiety/panic attacks will come in "waves" in some cases!. Stress of any kind is a major trigger!. Is she on any medication!? Does she have a history of any psychological problems!? Is she menopausal!?

Panic attacks are relatively physiologically harmless, unless there is comorbidity with (e!.g!.) preexisting cardiac problems!. Try anything you can do reduce her stress level!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hi Aly, if your mom is under pressure she could keep having panic attacks until she gets some medicine to calm her down, then she will begin to feel a lot better, i have panic attacks and they are horrible, but they go away and as i said, medicine helps!. x dont worry, the hospital will sort it outWww@Answer-Health@Com

Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc!.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc!.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level!.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication!. There's this strange herb called "St John's Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac!. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings!. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John's Wort works like prozac!. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc!.

The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced!.!.!. you have that "learned behavior" in your mind!. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this!. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction!.!.!. There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to!.!.!.!.

I have suffered from panic attacks since i was about 15 and can tell you that a panic attack will cause you no harm!. With me when i get stressed out or worried it makes me panic, I get dizzy, feel warm sometimes i cry, my heart starts to pound and i shake!. Some people suffer with different symptoms like my brother really feels like he is having a heart attack!. I imagine at the ER they will check her blood and heart to make sure it was nothing other than a panic attack and maybe give her some medicine to help control her nerves this will help any future attack!. Other things you can do is help her reduce stress, talk to her sometimes just talking about what is bothering you helps to!.

I hope she is ok and hugsWww@Answer-Health@Com

First off!.!.!.!.!.calm down! Don't be afraid, she will be OK!. Having a panic attack cannot really hurt her, although they can be painful themselves!. Don't be alarmed that she has had two so close together!. I have anxiety/panic attacks all the time!. Is she under a lot of stress!?

Anxiety attacks come as a result of physiological processes!. Nothing (usually) is medically wrong with the person them self!.

When I have one, I take some medications and lie down!. It helps to get your mind off of what is happening and psych yourself out!. They are made worse by thinking about them!. It is a good idea to go to the doctor because they can prescribe her meds for it!.

So don't worry! Your mom will be OK with time, just like last night!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
