I have the strange urge to lose an eye?!

Question: I have the strange urge to lose an eye?
Yeah... not sure why, but it's all I think about lately. I think it's psychological, but who knows? And yes, this is odd, you don't need to make a comment saying how odd it is. I'm just not sure what to do since I want to lose an eye more and more.

After a bit of searching, I discovered the term "body integrity identity disorder", which sounds related. Basically, it's a neurological disorder in which the sufferer would feel better off amputating a certain part of their body.

I used to feel this way about my right leg when I was younger, but I eventually recovered.

Experience.

it seems like you almost have body integrity identity disorder, except its based more on amputees and their limbs, but i guess to an extent an eye can be the same thing.

i can understand that this is an urge and i'm happy that you at least acknowledge that it is odd. should the temptation arise it would probably be best to speak to a psychologist before you try to take matters into your own hands.

best of luck with this.

EDIT: k, so i just read ur update n i just wanna stress now that its best you contact the psychologist now. know that not only will this be painful should you attempt, but also that if not done professionally could result in an infection. there are many self amputees and people who have gone to crocked doctors to get this done and have died from gangrene and sepsus. not to mention that there is a law about removing a part of the body that is fine.

Just so you know it will be un-imaginably painful to do it, and your vision will never be the same it is HALF blind not just seeing through one eye.
If you feeling anxiety like this go to the hospital tell them your eye is uncomfortable and you feel like taking it out and they'll give you some meds to help with that.

you will regret it for the rest of your life if you do :(

No. Be serious that even with a single eye can only be one answer. The problem is not going without an eye is not answering for an odd number.

Try not...

Call your doctor now. If you have begun preparing to lose an eye, call 911.
