What's the limit of psychiatric meds a person can be on?!

Question: What's the limit of psychiatric meds a person can be on?
Say someone was on seroquel 200 mg every night, citalopram 10 mg every morning, lorazepam 1 mg every night and divalproex dr 250 mg one tab twice a day ( I don't know what the dr is). Say this person was diagnosed with bipolar, PTSD, multiple personalities and some paranoid schizophrenia.

Well...I don't really see an issue with the medications as much as I do with all of these diagnoses for 1 person. We have a serious problem these days with doctors mis diagnosing patients with mental health illnesses/disorders,and their prescribing their patients with so many different medications.Mis diagnoses, and over medicating...It's a fact. This person in question has 4 different diagnoses...and I'm willing to bet this person is in their 20's...if even that old. This has become an epidemic, and most children and teens are now being mis diagnosed with everything..when in fact their teenage hormones play a huge role in their behavior and action,emotions,feelings.But..parents run right to their doctor, and demand answers and medication/s.I'm not sure of the limit on the medications...but this person in question has too many diagnoses..in my opinion.Take care.

I was mis diagnosed and over medicated.I was diagnosed with ADD/ADHD,PTSD,anxiety/panic attacks, depression, mood swings,bi polar, major depressive disorder.I was doped up and couldn't function, and was blessed to find a new doctor/psychiatrist who finally diagnosed me with mild depression, and now I'm only taking 2 medication, and only 1 of those is for sleep. My life has been improving ever since.Just wanted to share and maybe others can compare their story/experience to my own.I wish you well...

There's no legal limit, though sometimes a person taking many drugs just doesn't feel like themselves anymore and that may be a sign that dosing should be reconsidered.
At some point, there should be a cohesive visit including a discussion about whether all drugs are still necessary. They were likely prescribed one by one to address specific problems that may not be present anymore, or may also be helped by different drugs that were prescribed later.

There is no set limit. It depends on if someone can remember to take them all and if one's liver can metabolize all of it. And having multiple personalities is EXTREMELY rare (like less than 80 documented cases worldwide in 80 years).
