Sneeze while cooking?!

Question: Sneeze while cooking?
Well first of all, let me just say that our kitchen is DISGUSTING. My parents let our super hairy dog lay in the middle of the kitchen any time of day--even while someone is eating or cooking--and my mom sometimes gives him pieces of food for him to eat in the kitchen...getting his slobber all over the floor. Also, my mom puts her used tissues on the counter because she "doesn't want to throw them away just yet." And one of the things that bothers me the most is that my mom sneezes while she is cooking our food! She turns away from the food sometimes, and she claims that she "held it in", but by that she just means that she closed her mouth so no big strings of snot or anything came out (i know it's ew). But obviously closing your mouth doesn't keep germs from coming out. There are still germs that you can't see that come out with each sneeze. Yeah then afterwards, she doesn't wash her hands and keeps cooking the food I have to eat! I've asked her over and over and over to please wash her hands after she sneezes because it's unsanitary and she refuses. She just says "I kept it in so nothing came out." But it's the food I'm going to be putting in my mouth and I don't want her snotty germs all over it! And her hair is starting to fall out also because she's going through menopause, so sometimes I'll find a hair in my food and then refuse to eat the rest, obviously. And my mom gets so mad and says what a waste and that it's "just a hair." She thinks I'm a germophobe, but really? Am I the only one who thinks that's gross? And if you're gonna say that I should make my own food and be grateful she cooks for us, I am, but it's no use if it's not sanitary and inedible. Plus I'm only 15, don't know how to cook, and my mom probably wouldn't even let me make my own dinner. What should I do and is this normal? Do you think it's gross and unsanitary?

That is nasty as hell! I know the feelin, my dad does similar stuff- nasty dogs in the kitchen, lack of washing hands and taste testing with the same spoon he stirs with... Some people won't change no matter what... They are almost sub-human. Get used to it, there's lots of them.

Me and my hardcore life.
