Does this mean my friend is depressed?!

Question: Does this mean my friend is depressed?
What are the signs of depression in teenagers? My friend has been acting depressed lately, and I'm worried about her. I really want to help her and make her laugh more. She acts distant and sad lately, and it makes me sad. Does this mean she is depressed? It has been going on for a while, and it's really worrying me. If she's depressed, how can I make her feel better, and let her know that people do care about her? How can I make her laugh?

Answers:

Well, sadly its a hard problem to solve, it is more than likely a problem at home, or a personal problem, mainly I would try to always be supportive, even if they don't acknowledge it, they will be grateful you did when they are doing better, keep trying to make them laugh, laughter is the best medicine :) , good luck! :D

Right, give her a massive hug (if your one of thoose friends that do that) and just talk things over with her, ask her how you can help & stuff. show you care.

She may be depressed, it may be a personal thing or somthing.

just try to see the comedic things to everything you do together, i thought i failed at being funny, and turns out its eays as hell, no needing joek sites & shizz, just speka your mind on funny stuff, within reason.

good luck - hope this helps

Give her things that she loves.. It doesn't have to have a harsh price. Compliment her.. Tell her parents if it does get worse.. And maybe it can lead into therapy :) hope she works it out!
