Nahh, I think it's more like the attention is what they could want to get hurt for. Now actually hurting themselves for attention? If they are desperate, yes. Otherwise, they might just exaggerate the pain of a little scrape or cut to get that extra pat on the head or bowl of ice-cream :)
Agree with the above. They won't purposefully hurt themselves but they will come up with non existent bobos or things that hurt that need a band aid just because.
