could i have had alcohol poisoning?!

Question: Could i have had alcohol poisoning?
okay this new years eve just gone i went out and got so paraletic its unreal.. i ended up collapsing in the street while my friends apparently tried to wake me up (unsuccessfully) and ended up calling me an ambulance. needless to say i have no idea what happened from that point on i was out cold for a good 6 hours ( the nurse told me it was 3 in the morning when i finally did wake up) since then whenever i try to drink alcohol i find that my body really doesnt like it and i feel like im going to be sick sometimes even when i dont drink a lot. it feels like im still recovering from that night physically. is it possible that i had alcohol poisoning? could i have done lasting damage? and also im certainly stopping drinking altogether now as i dont want to go through that night again. & before you say it know how stupid and foolish i was and im ashamed.

Your stomach was probably pumped whilst you were in hospital and that must have saved you.

If your friends hadn't called an ambulance you would probably have died from alcohol poisoning.

You probably killed a few brain cells but even so you are still able to function normally. Your subconscious mind is probably terrified of going through that night again but that is unlikely as you have learned the hard way what alcohol can do to you if you get carried away.

Alcohol is a poison to the human body, thats why in large doses we vomit as its the body's way of protecting itself by removing the poison. For people that are not 'regular' heavy drinkers, their body is not used to the heavy intox of alcohol in such a short amount of time so the organs go into Shock causing many problems including death. It sounds like your body & brain are remembering new years eve's experience and jumping into 'battle stations mode' and repelling the poison(alcohol) from your body asap. Drink in small doses and slowly and your body will adjust its self to a safe 'tolerable' state for you to relax and enjoy RESPONSIBLY :)
