John is right, it's usually a circulation of blood problem, but it can also be a heating problem.
When I have my heater turned off in the winter and I type for a while, exercising my fingers so much in the relative cold gives me frostbite.
Just turn on the fireplace and see if that works.
Possibly lack of circulation of blood.
