Is there a correlation between anxiety/nervousness and wrists going numb?!

Question: Is there a correlation between anxiety/nervousness and wrists going numb?
This usually happens under high-stress situations.. such as meeting my old friends or going to visit my old high-school (I'm in college) to go see volleyball games and such.. I feel really anxious/stressed/nervous and this usually happens when I haven't eaten in a while or if I've had caffeine on an empty stomach usually.. When I start to feel nervous, I feel heavy like light-headed (faint-like) and my wrists go really numb to the point where I have to shake them to get them back to normal.. when I left my old high-school today though, the numbness started wearing off.. what's the deal?? I'm 18, 5 foot 4, and 115 lbs. and have no underlying medical conditions..

Answers:

yes - its a anxiety sensation. which is putting you in a defensive mode.
