It's a routine thing, and it's very, very healthy. Sometime you'll need to go more often because something's disturbing your mental health more than everyday life... kind of like going to the dentist to get a filling for that aching tooth.
With news reports on the rise about Americans leading stressed, rushed lives, going to a therapist is a good way to blow off a little steam in a place where it will actually be constructive (rather than in the middle of a grocery store check out line ;D).
