Graze - leave it open or cover it?!

Graze - leave it open or cover it?
I've taken a layer of skin off my forearm in a patch about 3cm by 6cm. It's quite red and raw and very painful. In terms of healing, is it better to leave it uncovered so that it can dry out in the fresh air, or should I cover it with a dressing to prevent infection?
Answers:
leave it open and let the air get to it, but if your in a dirty job cover it but make sure you use none stick stuff or you'll have more problems when you take it off,
