Help!!! Is my friend using laxatives to lose weight??

My friend has lost 4st 2lbs in 3 months!!!
Is it possible she is using laxatives to do this? As I thought laxatives only made you loose fluid...... She wants to lose another 4st before the end of the year.
Last year she was going on about a work mate of hers that had been doing it and dropped 5 dress sizes..... In a very short time.... she was amazed how good she looked, and that she was thinking about doing it aswell.....
Dont get me wrong she has a very low self asteam about herself and her weight.
However I thought that she understood that this was a stupid and dangerous thing to do..
Its not that she also has Crohn's disease and I am really worried about the damage she MAY be doing to herself.
Help I am truly worried about her!!!

Does anybody know in what way this could effect her Crohn's disease....
Also does anybody else agree that it is likely that she IS using laxatives ??

I suppose it is possible that laxatives are the cause of her weight loss. Another thing to consider though is that for many people with Crohn's disease when they are experiencing a flare up of symptoms they may have a loss of appetite and weight loss.

If you are concerned you may just want to ask her how she is doing with her Crohn's, if it's been acting up lately that could be the reason.
