What sort of side effects can you experience after you stop taking anti-depressa!

Question:

What sort of side effects can you experience after you stop taking anti-depressan/anxiety pills abruptly?

I've been on Effexor XR for mild depression as well as anxiety for about 3 months. My dosage went up to 150 mg a day. I haven't taken anything though for about 5 days though due to problems with getting my perscription refilled (I'm in Houston and my doctor is in SC). The only thing that seems to have occured is I'm a lot more tired that I use to be and my body always feels exhausted and like the wind has been taken out of me. But that's it. Are these normal side effects and if not what are other side effects that I might experience?

Answers:

Quitting any depression medication cold turkey is EXTREMELY dangerous. You can experience vomitting, dizziness, tiredness, more extreme depression, as well as many other symptoms. You have to be very careful when you're driving as well. I recommend you get back on as soon as possible.
