What causes the feeling of 'falling' during sleep?!
Question: Or even spinning, for that matter?
Answers: Or even spinning, for that matter?
There is a transitory phase in sleep where your brain has gone to sleep, but you are still conscious of your surroundings. People experience all sorts of weird things in this state- vivid dreams and a sensation of falling are some of the more common experiences. Some experts speculate that the feeling of falling occurs because the conscious part of your mind isn't receiving any physical sensations from your body, and your brain interprets this as falling.
I forgot to mention - the state is called hypnogogia Report It
