I think I have a migrain? I am pregnant too.?!

Question: I usually go to bed at like 7:30pm once my kids go to sleep I go to sleep. Well on Sunday night I wanted to stay awake and watch desperate housewives despite my sleepyness...well at 8pm BOOM bad headache I just figured I was tired. Until I woke up the next morning and it was still there. Throughout the night I had not slept well either. Anyways, It throbbing with every step I take ...If i get up to fast it like slams me with pressure and I feel like i may just fall over. It hurts to look at lights...I swear my kids are twenty times louder then usual. I have nausea but I am pregnant so thats normal too. I am in my first trimester I have never had a migrain before. Does that sound like one? How long do they last? I am taking tylenol the cheapo kind but its still there..not as bad I can actually walk around and clean alittle. This morning I was crying cuz it hurt so bad....

Are you sure it's a migraine? A migraine is on one side of the face only. Whether it is or not, all you can do is take Tylenol (because you're pregnant.) If it is a migraine you should stay in bed in a dark quiet room. I know that's probably inpossible for you to do, because you have kids.

If it is a migraine, stay away from trigger foods: chocolate, cheese, oranges, and red wine (which you're not drinking anyway.) If you get a chance, lie down with a cool washcloth on your forehead. It shouldn't last too much longer! If it does, call your doctor! Speak to the nurse. She might have some other ideas for you. Good luck, Hon. :(

Read the box again in case it has changed but when I was pregnate 2 years ago I took excederine migraine, I have consistant (4-5 a day) migraines and it really helps to keep it under control.

Ok sorry I just got on their website and said if you are pregnate or nursing to ask your doctor. I would call them and ask if you can take it. Tell them what you have tried already and that it's not working.

Tylenol will not help a true migrain, I've suffered for years and now my oldest child (18) does as well. OTC pain relievers will not affect a migrain at all.

Being pregnant and it going on that long and that painful I would call the doc though. Whether it is a migrain or not, sounds like you need to be seen.

Nausea, audio and photo (light & sound) sensitivity ... yup
Classic migraine symptoms ... my son gets them occasionally since he was 8 or 9 ... he's 14 now ... The hormonal changes due to pregnancy can make you prone to them...

See your OB and discuss the options for treatment.
Tylenol for migraines is a good idea, cost more, but worth it!

I suffer from migrains. Thats definally one. I sigest its hard with kids but to go into a DARK QUIET room and try and sleep. Also I take Excedrin for migrains tylonol doesnt do anything at all. excedrin even if you cand go into a dark quiet room at least get that it takes 20mins and its a long time trust me but when its gone isnt it worth the wait then trying things that dont work. It tells you to take 2 tablets in 24hr period that goes by the person because i have been on it for now 3-4years and i have to take like 4 sometimes up to 6 to get it gone. You never had it dont do that take the 2 and if it doesnt get better go up one at a time but if you do what i do at 6 tell your doctor. My body was just use to it so it wouldnt do much for me anymore
