What will the Doctor charge me to see me for a check-up after a whiplash?!
Question: I was rear-ended and need to get checked out. I have back discomfort, occasional headaches since the accident three weeks ago. I don't think it's serious but I am being offerred a settlement by the other driver's insurance carrier of 6 months coverage of my medical bills and a $1,000 for pain and suffering.

I would think to go to an urgent care. They can do Xrays and some other simple things. That way if you have to end up paying the bill, it owuld be less than ER. I know people who work at an urgent care and it is about $100 a visit, plus whatever they would do for you. But you shoudl get checked out regardless. And don't be greedy with the other guy's insurance co.
