It could be fractured or just bruised.... but either way there is nothing that can be done(even by a doctor).... just take some pain medicine and hope for the best. It should be better in 3-4 weeks at worst case.... And by the way, the tail bone is exactly that... it is the fourth vertebrae of the coccyx section of the spinal column ....which makes it a bone!!!

fall back on it....

it will be better in 2 weeks - so around January 13

it may be a bone bruise, or you may have a hairline fracture, or you may even have chipped the bone.

this is an injury that hurts a long time.
Seeing a doc and getting X rays is probably a good idea.

Well, it will probably be sore for a bit but get it checked just in case. Hopefully, you didn't fracture anything and they'll just prescribe you some pain meds.

Sit on a rubber dough-nut. (Available for purchase at Walgreen's or any major drugstore.)
The tailbone is cartilage, not bone, so if it is broken it will be for ever. You can get used to it. I did. I broke mine jumping off of sand dunes in 1974. It still hurts, at times.
See a doctor if it gets worse, but avoid unnecessary x-rays.

My little brother did the same thing the next day. The doctor said that he bruised his tailbone really bad, and to just take it easy for awhile.

The same thing happened to my years ago. PAINFUL!!
You just have to wait it out , It will eventually stop hurting.

Must see a doctor, but wait for one more week and then if it was still hurting, you have to go see a doctor and check on it.

Bruises to the bones usually takes a long time to heal, so i would say that going to the doctor keeps you from worrying and make you feel better.

Good luck, and hope you get better

it may be that you just bruised it but the tailbone is very easy to break too and there is no way to treat or 'set' it. the only way to tell for sure if it's broken is to see a doctor and have an xray. otherwise its just rest and sitting on a pillow or laying on your side to take the pressure off until it heals.
