Laws regarding traveling with medicine?!
Question: I am going to Mexico on business for about a week. I am taking my medicine with me: MS-CONTIN and Percocet. I am post surgery and need to take this with me. Is it ok to cross the border with these medicines? They were filled in a US Pharmacy here in America, I am NOT traveling with any mexican medicine. I'm just wondering if US Customs has a problem with AMERICANS traveling with AMERICAN medicine. I have a letter from my doctor stating that she prescribed it to me and for what, and I also have the original packaging from the pharmacy. Can someone please tell me if this is ok?

As has been stated, make sure you keep the medication in the original presciption container. Do not put it in a daily pill minder or a pocket pill box.
They will be fine as long as they can see an in date prescription.
Make sure that it is in the original prescription container. You will be fine. My husband does it all of the time.
You can travel with your medicine outside of United States territory. Nobody will check you at all.
I travel with prescription pain medication out of the country all the time. I just put it in my carry on in the original bottles and no one has ever said anything to me.
