I had my first strength training class yesterday...i need a quick way to get rid!


Question: My legs, arms, butt, everything is super sore. I have the class again tomorrow, so is there any way to get rid of most of the soreness before tomorrow?
I have already:

taken painkillers
hot bath last night
lotion
vitamins


what else can i do?
i cannot work out tomorrow being this sore!!!!

Nothing will get rid of your soreness within 24 hours but I suggest a lot of stretching. What I usually do is walk around (laps or a few minutes on a treadmill will do) to get my muscles loosened and then stretch everything out really well. The soreness will not be gone, but you will feel better before your class...and also, continuing to work out actually helps relieve the soreness.

Keep taking hot baths...and work the muscles a BIT.

Simple - don't work out. There is nothing that you can do about soreness. It is a good thing and means that you worked your muscles. Doing some light cardio will help the soreness, but you are just going to have to wait it out. If it has been a few days since you worked out, you will be fine and can go ahead and work out again. But, if you just worked out yesterday, you shouldn't be working out again so soon because your muscles grow when you rest, not while you are working out.
