Medical help quick please?!
Question: My dauughter just phoned me and she told me that she had taken 2 ibuprofen tablets 400mg . She was prescribed only to take one ,but she was in pain and stupidly took two .Can this do any harm please ? She is 26 years of age.

no not at all!! Doctors prescribe 800mg of Ibuprofen all the time...unless she some how has an allergy to it..which i doubt because the doctor wouldnt have prescribed it in the first place...there is absolutley nothing to worry about...just tell her to wait 4-6 hours before taking it again..
I highly doubt it will harm her at all--i take 800 mg motrin (which is the same as ibuprofen) so that is the amt she took-the worst thing that may happen is it will upset her stomach ---but i really wouldnt worry at all

dont worry i take ibuprofin 800 every four hours ..cos my teath is killing me and am fine so dont worry but if she can call the doctor and ask him for me plz...
No doses of up to 800mg are safe. She should not exceed 2400mg per day.
Not a problem...and a person can even combine both ibuprohen (or asprin) and acetaminophen, often used if fever does not respond to one...
Ibuprofen is an anti- inflammatory drug but could also be used for pain. The recommended dose is 400mg-800mg 3-4 times a day .Not to exceed 3600mg/day .She should be fine ,Not to worry she certainly didnt take too much.... Tell her not to exceed the 3600.mg. That could cause problems such as G.I bleed .Good Luck and hope your daughter get well soon.
I would call the pharmacy but she should be ok.
