Whats the best way to fall asleep?!


Question: So I have a slight case of insomnia some nights i just can't fall asleep and i'll be really really tired but i still can't get to sleep i turn everything off and just lay there and it sucks cuz i have classes in the morning and i need sleep plz help!

this really really helps me
I have a clock that tics by the second and I lie in bed with my eyes closed and count the tics. I usually make it to around 350 before I'm out.
When I stay at my boyfriends house, he doesn't have a clock, but I still count to myself. This still seems to work, just not quite as fast as with the clock.
Other techniques I've heard of are imagine you're at the top of a long flight of stairs and when you reach the bottom you will be asleep.
Or, tense every muscle in your body in succession (first toes, then toes and calfs etc) by the end you should be relaxed enough to sleep.

Smoking pot and getting really stoned helps me fall asleep no problems

I just drink tons of beer and put a movie on. Asleep within 5 min.

Well first you should not be on any drugs including medications, alcohol or smoking. Do not use caffeine since that will not help. Beyond that see site below under insomnia.

try drinking camomile tea before going to bed

I can totally relate. What I do, and it works, is say a favorite prayer over and over again. I use, now I lay me down to sleep, I praise the lord my soul to keep, if I die before I wake, I praise the lord my soul to take. Another thing is to meditate on your third eye, yes, the one in the middle, and just concentrate pn your breathing. Metaphorically,speaking, the middle eye.The breathing takes your mind off of what ever it is that keeps you awake. It seems like as soon as my head hits the pillow, my brain just remembers every thought I had that day, and sometimes just random thoughts. The doctor told me not to do anything other than sleep, and sex in the bed. Then your body will get the habit of going to bed, and going to sleep. I'm still experimenting to find what works best for me. Sweet dreams.
