Question: everytime i cough(which is often because i'm trying to get over being sick) i get a really sharp pain in my lower-side back. right below my last rib. its a sharp pain.... help please, if you can!

Sounds like a simple muscle cramp due to it being worked recently in a way it is not used to, from your coughing. I wouldn't worry about it unless it sticks around after you are over your cough for a while.
