Been having back pain for five days on my left shoulder, Is there anything I can!
Question: Hi Rebr27
By saying "back pain ... left shoulder" I assume you mean pain around your upper back that goes into the muscle at the base of your neck and out towards your shoulder joint.
Firstly, this is very common as most people use their upper back more with work nowadays - computers, sitting all day, carrying objects etc.
What happens is your upper back joints tighten, so do your lower back joints, the muscles in the area tighten as they tire out and then pain occurs.
There are a few things you can do - stretches to this area are difficult but not impossible. You can use Acupresure points to releave the muscle tension and help joints move better. keep moving is advisable as it helps to generally ease tension in the entire spine.
To stretch you need to have your arms out, then turn as far as you can one way until it pulls (not pain!!), hold there for 2 seconds and then twist the opposite way. Do this for a few minutes and it will help.
See the link below for some more techniques that will help and feel free to email me for any advice or help.

Get it seen by a doctor, there are several different structures in the shoulder area that can be injured, and the remedy is different for each of them.
white willow or chew on a tree...lolvalerian root eat some weeds
Is it in your shoulder or in your back below your shoulder? I have the same pain, below my left shoulder in my upper left back, and have had it for over 20 years. I finally got diagnosed with degenerative disc disease and the pain is shooting into this spot. I now am over 50 years old, and am on pain meds with a narcotic duragesic back patch as well. I can control the pain so I can function during the day, but it is a *****. Good luck.
