You will be fine. It's been used for several years

No Way! I would insist on anesthesia. That so-called 'sedation' is just a tranquilizer. Do you want to wake up in the middle of your nose job? Get the anesthesia.

I used top be terrified of IV sedation for surgery myself.

The Anaesthetist will use other drugs other than Valium and Perococet although they will be in the cocktail. So will Medalazalam, you will want to take some of this home with you after one go of it!. Morphine and a few extras.
They will make sure you are deeply asleep and remain that way throughout surgery.

The side effects of the medication is almost complette memore loss of the surgery. Not a bad thing at all.

It is terrifying thinking you are going to be 'snoozing' through your surgery but you are deeply asleep and usually snoring. You have no idea what they are doing.

I have IV sedation every 2 months for a painful procedure instead of a GA and now enjoy and look forward to the Medazalam. It really is good stuff.

Talk to your Anaesthetist about your fears. If you really don't think you could do it through sedation you have the right to be knocked out (GA).

E-mail me through my profile if you want to chat. i am happy to tell you about my experiences or answer any other questions.

Good luck.
