It is possible that you are not getting enough calcium in your diet. I had the same problem years ago and an xray confirmed that my body was taking calcium from my spine to compensate for the lack in calcium. I had severe "charlie-horses" in my calves. As soon as I started taking a daily calcium supplement it went away and I haven't had the problem since. I would think that particulary since you run track your muscles may lack calcium. I'm curious to know if that helps! : )

well, i could depend on what you do during the day. are you a jogger?? you could try soaking in cold water. yes, i mean't cold. the cold water actually will help more than hot water if you soak it.

A lot of things can cause muscle cramps. Could be bad circulation or vitamin deficiency. I get them in my feet a lot. Try eating a banana or some apricots. Your body might be low on potassium. My grandmother gets them in her legs and swears by drinking tonic water for the small amount of quinine in it, which is known to cure muscle cramps.

My hubby use to get those too. They are called Charley Horses. Once cause is you need more fluids in your system. Try drinking more water every day and see if that helps.

If u sleeping in a cold environment it tends to happen... Try to keep your feet legs covered properly and make sure u drink a lot of water before you sleep.

Also to relieve your cramps you could keep your leg straight on the bed and ask somebody to push tour front portion of the feet such that your toes point towards your knee... This is really effective... I have the same problem and even my grand dad did...

4 hours a day...think u might be overdooin it...ya think? a body usuall needs 24 hrs to recove from over stress... dont do same exercise every day... drink fluids..

eat a banana every morning, your body NEEDS the potassium, that is why your cramping
