I quit a few weeks back for 5 days, but my son who is 3 years old mde me stressed out and i went and bought some cigarettes. I really do regret it as now i am back smoking 10 a day. I keep saying to my self everything my last packet runs out il quit but i never do. I want to quit for my son and for my self but i dont think im 100% ready to do it but deep down i want to do it.
When i quit for a week i found it actually really easy, i did want to smoke now and then but it passed i never really got that stressed either, i have tried over the years to quit but failed, i tried patches and support from the nhs years ago but i failed that too. Last time i tried i used the nicorette gum and im telling you this it really works it is excellent its well worth the money, its quite cheap aswell, its the best method i have tried and it does really work.
Everytime you want to smoke just chew a gum and the cravings work, honestly it works like a treat. Try excercising or cleaning your teeth when you want to smoke, i have been told to eat a orange or drink orange juice when you have a craving, i dont know if it works becuase i have never tried it. I aiming to quit tomorrow but i dont know if i will suceed. People say if you set a date to quit your suceed.
If your husband decided to quit aswell, when he gets a withdrawl sympton leave the house or leave him where ever you are so this doesnt cause a row, if he decided to light up thats his problem not yours, just dont bring your self sown to the level where you give in and argue with your husband. Smoking is a big killer thats a fact dont be a victim in this.
I wish you all the luck in the world, go for it and keep up the good work of trying to quit.
Good Luck

superglue your mouth shut, should do the trick

Just think that everytime you would have smoked and dont you are on your way to a healthier life. If you have any children or close family members think about the fact you will be with them longer and you will no longer smell of smoke lol. Well done.

you should set a quit date..never do it on spur of the moment. On your quit date you need to take everything out of the house that deals with smoking like throwing away the ashtrays, cigarette cases, lighters, etc. and smoke outside. As you get closer and closer to quit date (which should be a few weeks to a month away) start smoking less and less. Hold out hour by hour until you are down a half a pack and so on. It is too hard to quit all of a sudden like that.

Be sure to have things to occupy you like gum, puzzles, etc. Wash your linens and curtains on your quit date to get nicotine out of the house. This is how I did it and I have been smoke-free for 13 months now. I wish you the best of luck!

airways chewing gum is a good one helped me loads when i quit. but the reality is there's no easy way to quit it's down to how bad you want it in the end

dont fall for the cut back , get patches b.s.

go cold turkey. do other things as well to be healthier as well, why not?? change your diet to veggies, try to lose weight and get in better shape etc, read , go for walks at night to help releive stress. try to keep your mind off of smoking and stress related things.

I told myself I would stare at the wall for 2 weeks if I had to , but I decided to stay busy doing things constructive, yard work , house work, anything constructive to keep my mind off of it.

you have to WANT to stop smoking or just keep smoking.

you have to again WANT to stop.

Try to get more information regarding some ways to stop smoking at my profile.

Perhaps you should investigate the nicorette activestop program that you can find in a web search for "nicorette activestop".

its 7 weeks for me without a ciggie, there is one thing you need more than anything and that it will power, go and see a docotor get patches etc also make such you remove all ash trays from the house, i took down my curtains and washed them to get rid if the smoke, there is a no smoking help line they are there for advice up till 11 pm, also get a tin and the money you save on ciggie put away watch the money mount up good luck with it all
