Best friend was hit at 50mph and has survived. Statistics????!

Question: My best friend was hit at 50mph on January 11th. She has seriously injured herself (ie two compound fractures in both legs, shatter pelvis) But she has had skin grafts and though its going to take a long time, shes going to be ok.

I was just wondering what the statistics of survival are at 50mph, i know its a miracle shes with us right now, but shes a fighter. I know they must be really low.

Thanks for any help and suggestions

Tell your friend I'm real sorry she got hurt. She is being kept around for something special though. If not her personally, then one of her kids will do something like find the cure for something, or change the world . I think it depends on the car your driving when it comes to surviving accidents. I was hit by a very, very large tree doing 100mph ,on my way to work. I was hit straight on, but well as you can tell ,I am still kicking!Tell your friend it may not seem like that now, but this will become a small part in her life years from now. Hang in there! Byee

50mph is damned slow.
Chances of surviving it are almost 100%.

i wonder how your friend got injured.
