How soon can you donate platelets after giving whole blood?!

Question: I know you have to wait 3 days between platelet donations, and 56 days between whole blood donations.

However, I just gave whole blood for the first time. I've only ever given platelets. So I want to know how long do I have to wait after a whole blood donation to be able to give platelets?

FYI - I did check the Red Cross's website FAQ's and called the hotline, but the operator gave me no help and the website had nothing.

Ok Whole Blood contains Platelets, so if you cannot donate whole blood again for 56 days then you are not going to be able to donate Platelets for 56 days. However you might be able to donate Platelets and then 3 days later donate whole blood. Best of Luck
