Can you give aspirin to a dog?!

Question: My daughters little maltese was just sat on and his back leg is sprained. She doesn't have the $ to take him to an emergency vet, I told her to wrap him in a blanket to help with any shock, so far so good. She called me back and said he hurts, I need to know if she can dilute an aspirin, or baby tylenol in a spoon of water and give it to him, for pain. She can take him to the vet tomorrow, she is on limited income. Any help is appreciated.

Here is a detailed answer to your question including dosages for different weights.

81mg aspirin. my vet told me I could give it to my dog, the dog is small so break 1 tab in half, only 1 dose a day till you can talk to the vet

i dont think you should give a dog any kind of medication, it might give them a bad stomach ache or even get them sick. get her to the vet as soon as possible.

Hi, i had a lhasa apso, they are small dogs as well and he had problems with his legs. I have given him baby aspirins before and it did help with pain. you have to be careful with the dosage and the amount, you need to remember how small their intestines are.So go ahead give him the baby asprin but remember that he needs to see a vet and most probably have his leg wrapped if it is a sprain. .

ASK A PROFESSIONAL. you don't want to give poochie something that will make him worse.
