Honestly, let him cry it out. There really is nothing you can do for him except give him some pain medicine and help him get comfortable. Put him in his bed with lots of pillows and blankets. Or stick him in front on the TV on the couch with a blanket and pillow. If he has something to keep him occupied, then maybe he won't focus on his pain so much and he will start to relax alittle.

You might ask your Dr. for some methadone for him. Dr.'s don't usually like to prescribe it because of the stigma but it is really a good pain killer. As with any medication use it with care

take him back to the doctor or hospital and demand some stronger painkillers...

Chronic pain can be very exhausting and debilitating over time, and it is SO VERY painful for you to watch someone you love when they are hurting. There are clinics to assist people with chronic pain conditions, so try to get a referral to one on the list attached:

The hand and wrist are full of nerves and pain receptors which are needed for manual dexterity. Definitely get your dad some help, and know that he appreciates your love and support, even if he can't express it right now. Hope he is pain-free soon!!
