Someone slipped an envelope under my door with little packets of...?!

Question: ...I don't know what. There were two packets--both sealed. When I opened one of the packets some strange dust floated up in the air. I kid you not. Wt*? I quickly rolled the dust and the little packets up in the envelope and threw them in the incinerator, in our hallway. I live in an apartment building. I have washed my hands thoroughly--twice--in the Name of the Holy Trinity.

What's goin' on there? This is freaky. Scary movie stuff.

Hey, the guy on the fifth floor has a massive crush on me. Do you think he has resorted to trying a little magic on me? Hmmmm....

Seriously, what do you think was in those packets?

While it is scary, the chances that some random person got their hands on anthrax or some other deadly poison and chose to target YOU is quite slim. Probably just some idiots sick idea of a joke or someone trying to harass you. If it happens again I would not touch the envelopes and call the police.

I think you should have called the police.

Even if it was a joke, anonymous envelopes full of powder are nothing to play around with!

Yes- chances are it was nothing, but it's always better safe than sorry. Did you hear about this? Just be careful!

If this is a true post- then you should have perhaps gone to the police station with those packets.

Now you will never know.

You're right this is scary. You should inform the police. It could be some type of poison or anthrax. They can have it lab tested and that way you'll know if you're in any danger , medically. Good luck

I think there's NO WAY to even guess what was in the packets, and you should have taken them to the police.... and you should NOT have opened them in the first place.

Someone is trying to freak you out.
Burning the evidence of this harrassment / stalking was really stupid.
If anything ELSE happens, take the "stuff" to the police withOUT opening it.

Sounds pretty damn scary, actually. I know you said you washed your hands but if a dust came out you probably inhaled it. Maybe go to a doctor to check it out to be safe? Also, you can report what happened, it might make you feel more comfortable.

you should have called the police to see what the hell that stuff was?

Call 911. Why did you throw them away???
