there are patches you can buy. i'm not sure what they are called but any drug store should sell them
they turn hot and cold according to your needs. it sounds eird but it works! you should buy one.

The only thing i can think of would be to strap your back up in a tight cotton wrap to "brace" it.

Tell her the situation and I'm sure she'll understand, offer a girls night out with her for when you feel better.
I wouldn't go out drinking if you back is damaged, it might make it worse for partying and moving around... but go ahead and go if it's a quiet hang-out type of party.

I say dont risk it unless you can just sit there and be there for her alot of dangerous things can happen to you if you get drunk with a back injury. if she's really your friend she'll understand. you can call her up & promise her you'll make up for it when you feel better. but it has to be something real special to make it i mean it is her birthday. unless she's a simple girl & is just satisfied with the fact that you tried. okay this answer is getting too long. good luck!

Be the designated driver!

Is this for real? Are you really saying that you can not see your friend on her birthday just because you may not be able to drink alcohol? You need to ask yourself a serious question. When did the alcohol become the main theme in my life and where is this road leading me?

To be logical.you might injure your back even further by consuming alcohol, as your inhibitions and pain sensors become less and less active..so you might want to stop and THINK first and use so common sense!! A BAD FALL..did you seek medical attention? Hmm..You'd likely be smart to stay home and rest!! YA think? Take GREAT Care of YOU ..if your 'friend' is truly a friend, she WILL understand and agree that you keep yourself SAFE!! Good Luck to YOU

Sad to say I must agree with most of the respondents here. Get medical advice about your back in case you have already done more damage than you think, and give the party scene a miss for a while till you are better. I am sure your friend will understand and you can see her another time for an unbirthday celebration.

I wouldn't mix any pain killers with alcohol. Not to tell you what to do or anything but your options are 1) Stay home. 2) Take something for pain and don't drink. 3) Drink alcohol and skip the pain meds until tomorrow.
