Can you get Arthritis by cracking your knuckles, or toes?!

Question: I have heard that it does not cause arthritis.
I was told that the sound you hear when you crack your knuckles is the sound of the gas, called nitrogen escaping. ( a doc told me)

There is no evidence to prove that cracking joints as you describe causes any longterm problems, like arthritis.

Good question. I remember people always saying that when I was little, but I think they might have just said it to make you stop cracking your knuckles....I hate it when people do that lol.
