Yes, I have had the exact same thing. If your like me it has to do with your sinuses and more or less being blocked up. I need to have surgery to correct a deviated septum and also another surgery to, more or less, roto rooter my sinuses and the tubes that connect from them to right behind you eardrums.
Go back to your doctor and get a referral to a specialist and see if this is what you need.
On a side note, did you ever have tubes in your ears? I was told that many people get these at a young age and that they end up needing surgery when they are an adult to again clear out their sinuses.
I did and it was high blood pressure. Medications has resolved it and i no longer have the throbbing.
You should ask your Dr. about that possibility.
