Has anybody had a facet joint block?!
Question: I am due to have one in my spine to try and alleviate chronic pain. Anyone have any experiences to share? Thanks in advance for intelligent helpful answers (well here's hoping anyhow)

Yes i have two facet blocks a year for chronic back pain But i have to say i have to be sedated because my back pain is horrible .Some people can have them and they are ok .So give it a go?
My girlfriend has had a sympathetic pain block which is similar, hers for cancer pain- didn't work, but a subsequent celiac node nerve block did help a lot in that area of her chest.

Im not going to tell you its not painful and it may be uncomfortable laying on your stomach during the proceedure but if you are suffering with pain youve nothing to loose, their are risks to the proceedure such as nerve damage, infection paraplega but all the patients I have seen have benefited from a facet joint block maybe not in all cases solving the problem completely but alleviating some of the pain, any questions or queries you may have please contact the hospital doing the proceedure.
