It could be that your back/or neck is out of alignment and this sometimes will make one of the toes or fingers hurt. massage helps, look at the nail is it white? there should be a pink tent but if it is totally white your not getting the blood to it. I would look into going to a chiropracter and getting aligned and maybe soaking the foot in very warm water to get the circulation stimulated...hope it helps, also eating some hot wings or cayanne with help with the blood flow...

Go see a doctor.

well you could have injured it in your sleepa nd not know it. I once broke a toe in my sleep! you could be developing a corn or a blister....if it still hurts in a few days go see a doctor...

u should go see a doctor becoz it might bring a big damage to ur leg,IMAGINE WEN U HAVE TO USE A WHEELCHAIR(I'M NOT JOKING)it happend to my cousin and he did a operation on dat

This sounds horrible but is it the knuckle that is hurting or the muscles?
If its the knuckle try straightening the toe and give a gentle tug. It might 'pop' and relieve the ache.
If its the muscles then soak it in warm water and massage the muscles around the toe including the muscles that lead up over and under the foot.
Acupuncture is also very useful if you dont want to see a regular podiatrist.
Sometimes we get aches in muscles we forget we have. Our feet take a beating all day every day. Give them care and they will feel better.
Massage them with warm oil or epsom salt and really warm water (dont burn yourself).
